Financial Assistance Request

Serving Scouts in Lackawanna, Wayne, Pike, Luzerne, Wyoming and Susquehanna Counties.

Who
The Northeastern Pennsylvania Council is offering to help serve low income youth and their families from Lackawanna, Wayne, Pike, Luzerne, Wyoming and Susquehanna Counties. These Scouts are faced with a special financial challenge.

The Scoutmaster, Cubmaster or Venturing Crew Advisor of the Packs, Troops, and Crews based in these counties are in the best position to have knowledge of Scouts and families in the Unit who are most in need of assistance. Working with the Unit Leaders will help to identify needs more accurately and readily. This practice is not meant however to exclude parents or other leaders from directly applying for financial assistance, as long as requirements are met.

What
The Northeastern PA Council has targeted specific needs-based funds to be utilized in the counties listed above to serve youth and families in need. These funds may be requested to supplement registration fees, uniforms, and handbooks. The NEPA Council will subsidize up to 50% of these expenses. Should your Scout need a Campership to attend a NEPA council operated summer camp, requests are to be made separately using a Campership Request Form. This form will be made available starting in January of 2025 for Scouts attending camp in the summer of 2025.

Funds Availability
All funds are limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Requests for needs based assistance will be honored only when the form(s) listed below are completed and returned to the Scout Service Center. In both cases, documentation of public assistance must be attached.
