Lumberjack Campsite

Lumberjack is a camper favorite at Acahela. The site is set back off Lower Road in a grove of pines and sits on a small bluff that overlooks a section of Rabbit Run, a small creek that winds through the camp. It's a little more isolated than some of our other sites, but still close enough to be convenient to get to other parts of the camp.

Site Capacity: For medium to larger sized units
Special Features: Pine grove on a bluff overlooking Rabbit Run and the Lower Camp
Latrine type: Classic pit latrine with wash stand

Site Access

Site is on it's own side trail off Lower Road. Access by 4WD SUVs and light trucks is restricted to one vehicle at a time and only one vehicle can stay just outside the site since the road is so narrow. A trailer can be towed to the site, but it is difficult with the current terrain and water mains to get a trailer into the site. Site is a 7-minute walk uphill to the Dining Hall.

Other Points of Interest

  • Located near the Trailwood campsite
  • Youth Showers is the closest building to the site
  • Has pathways that lead to Lenape Trails System
  • Overlooks the Rabbit Run and the Lower Field

Fees

In-Council: $40.00 per weekend
Out-of-Council: $60.00 per weekend
