Council Venturing Vice- President of Membership: Aaron Grier

Hey everybody!! My name is Aaron Grier, and for the 2012-2013 term I will be serving NEPA as your Vice President of Membership. I'm from Venture Crew 1600 in Scranton. I've been involved in Scouting for 11, soon to be 12 years and this is my third in the Venturing Program. Based on my experiences already I can gladly say that I'm stuck in Scouting pretty much forever.

Venturing opened the doors of opportunities for me that I never thought I would have. I will be attending the 2013 National Jamboree at the Summit as President of my crew. I cannot wait for this as it will ultimately put to the test every leadership aspect the Venturing Program has taught me. Some of my greatest friends I have net through Venturing and because of it we continually get to try new things and go to new places, I couldn't ask for a better experience.

 

Outside of Venturing I am junior in high school with plans to study Music Education and Kinesiology with a focus in Outdoor Education in college. I have been in Marching Band for 4 years, and have been dedicated to competitive swimming as long as I have Scouting. Other than that I'm a simple being who loves the outdoors, especially rock climbing, you can ask any of my fellow Venturers about that.

 

I'm excited to be your Vice President of Membership, and I can't wait to meet some of you at events around the Council. Hopefully, getting to meet as many people as possible will allow me to begin to give back to Venturing what it has given to me.
