Venturing Officer Association

All Venturers are given opportunities to learn and apply proven leadership skills. A Venturing crew is led by elected crew officers. The officers work closely with adult Advisors and other adult leaders. The Northeastern Pennsylvania Council created its own Venturing Officer Association to help foster the development of those leaders.

The Venturing Officer Association, or “VOA”, is a group open to all Venture crew youth officers and adult leaders. Its members help plan Venturing across the Northeastern Pennsylvania Council.

The VOA meets each month at 5pm at the Scout Service and Training Center. 

The Venturing officer’s association or VOA, is designed as a council organization run by the youth officer’s of existing crews. Our mission is to make venturing be the next big thing in our NEPA region of scouting. Currently, the VOA has Two goals:

1- Organize Venturing in NEPA. Many venturers in our area haven’t met or have even heard of other crews that are only a few miles away from them. Our goal is to change all of that and to bring our venturing family together.

2- To take Venturing to the Next Level, As a youth run organization, we know what the youth of today are interested in, and what we are not interested in. Simply put, we want to banish the stereotype that many non scouting teenagers have of scouting by making scouting be the organization that they will be enthusiastic to join. We are taking our old events and revamping them up to give them a more up to date feel and be more compelling to today’s youth, all while staying in line with scouting’s values and all that scouting can offer.
