Thanks for dropping by to take a look at our
new Council Website. We've tried to rewrite and incorporate
all the kinds of things that you need to see and know about
and make this site a useful tool and resource that you will
visit again and again. After you've taken a good look around,
we'd appreciate it if you could give us some feedback. At the
bottom of this page there is a chance for you to send us what
you think - and your opinion matters because we're here to
serve YOU!
Here's a list of some of the new features
we've added to the site.
Interactive Calendar
We've developed an on-line calendar with
"interactive" capability. By clicking on any month in the
dropdown calendar menu, you'll go right to a detailed calendar
that displays all the events for that month. In addition to
allowing us to update the calendar when circumstances force a
change in the original printed version, we can add an
additional layer of detail by providing you with links to
further information or PDF documents about that particular
event. Just click on any underlined event to go to any
additional details.
QUICK
LINKS to Key Sites and Important Pages
Repeat visitors will love this one. When you
get used to finding certain information, our Quick Links will
help you get there quickly. These dandy short-cuts are
terrific navigational tools, but there is also a redundant set
of links and drop down menus so that you can find your way to
just about anywhere on the website quickly. If you can't find
what you're looking for, try going to our SITE MAP
located on the menu bar to your left. This new version of the
Site Map is laid out like an index in the back of a book with
multiple links to everything in the site - and we plan to keep
adding to all this to make navigating our site easier still.
On-Line Registrations
New to this version of the Council Website is
an On-Line registration capability. We have several items
already connected so that you can register to be part of the
Council's new Alumni Associations for each of the Camps,
register to be a "found" Eagle Scout, join our Campmaster
Corps or respond to a survey. In the months to come, this
capability will be expanded further with the ability to be
able to order items on-line as well as register for camp or
events on-line. That's in the future, but that future is
nearer now than ever before!
New
NEWS page
A new NEWS page has been added with the hope
that this will expand into a record and archive of events in
our council and camps. Be sure to visit this regularly to see
what's new!
New
SCOUT SHOP Page
Instead of just telling you that we have a
Scout Shop, we've decided to tell you what's new in the shop
instead! Visit the Scout Shop page regularly to see what new
items are available or how to be first in line for
soon-to-arrive patches and other Scout stuff. There is more in
the shop than ever, so get the lowdown on what's new and
exciting on the Scout Shop page.
New
PHOTO GALLERIES

Got photos? We do! Scouting is all about having
fun in the great outdoors and we have an abundance of both -
FUN and GREAT OUTDOORS! You can access photo galleries
on the NEWS page or visit the PHOTO GALLERY INDEX to see what
photo collections are there. And we have plans to expand this
feature. If you have old photos of any event, great photos of
our scenic camps, or historic photos, be sure to share them
with us so we can post them on the site. There is no better
way to share and preserve our great heritage than
seeing it in the images we can publish here.

New VIRTUAL PATCH COLLECTION
With
such a rich history, our Council has a terrific selection of
patches - but they are all scattered throughout the region and
there is no single resource or repository of patches that the
public can see - that is until now! We are beginning to put
together a virtual patch collection from scans and
photos sent to us by our local Scouters. If you have a patch
collection you would be willing to share,
simply click here and read up
on the submission instructions. You get to keep your patches
while sharing them with the world - how cool is that!?!

MORE Information
Finally,
we've tried to provide you with more information, better
information, information that is not only easy to use, but fun
to get at and read. The effort has been to produce something
we can all be proud of, but this is just the start. Like
everything in our council, Scouting is a collaborative effort,
better because of the variety and volume of effort poured into
it. This is YOUR website, so don't be shy about letting
us know what you need, what you want to see, and what can make
this better. Most of all, CONTRIBUTE! The work always
goes better when we do it together!
Let us know what you think by taking part in
the survey below, or by e-mailing the webmaster at
tbongard@nepabsa.org
. Thanks!
