2011 JTE Gold

Hello Leaders!

This is a friendly reminder about the new Journey to Excellence program and giving every unit the possibility of attaining the Gold Level.

Some benchmarks that are coming to a close are:

Packs

  1. Leadership planning by having leaders in place for next year.
  2. Hold two activities with Troop for second year Webelos.
  3. Working on a unit budget.
  4. Getting youth to participate in outdoor activities

Troops

  1. Have two activities with second year Webelos of which one is a parent orientation and camp promotion.
  2. Working on a unit budget
  3. Troop attends long term camp

Dan Beard Boy and Cub Scout Roundtables

We are pleased to announce that Mike Jurkowski will continue to host Boy Scout Roundtables at the Wayne Highlands Middle School in Honesdale. They are the second Tuesday of every month at the Wayne Highlands Middle School at 7:00pm.

Cub Scout Roundtable

The new Dan Beard District will have TWO OPPORTUNITIES for Cub Leaders to attend roundtables.

  • Second Tuesday of each Month at the Scout Service Center at 7:00pm and
  • Second Tuesday of each Month at the Wayne Highlands Middle School at 7:00pm.

Cub Leaders and volunteers can attend either roundtable for their convenience.

 

Iron Horse and Dan Beard Districts Merge

Starting January 1, 2011, Iron Horse District and Dan Beard District will come together to form the new Dan Beard District. You will start receiving fliers and information with the new District Name.

On December 7th, 2010, the combined districts held an annual meeting for District Committee members at large and Charter Organization Representatives. At the annual meeting, the following items were voted on and passed:

"DAN BEARD" become the official new District Name.

District Chairman: Jim Naticchi
Vice-Chairman: Pat Gibbons and Liz Haber

District Commissioner: J Croom
Vice Commissioners:  Bill Durando and Stephen Lenceski

District meetings will be held the first Wednesday of the month at Sacred Heart Elementary School Cafeteria in Carbondale, PA.
