The time has come to recapture the spirit of Acahela
If you have ever spent a week of summer camp swimming in the Lehigh or the pond, canoed on the Toby, gathered in the Lower Field for Assembly with the brass cannon booming with the retirement of the colors, or tossed a rock at the water tower, then we have an organization for you!
The new Acahela Alumni Association is now taking registrations for those interested in becoming the charter members of a group dedicated to the preservation of the history, grounds, and spirit that make up one of NEPA Council's greatest camping assets. We're looking for anyone who has a fondness for the camp, whether you served on staff, took your ordeal at Acahela, spent your summer camps, or participated in Camp-O-Rees or Polar Bears at Acahela. If you have experiences at this grand old camp, then you are eligible to become a member of the Alumni Association. And there are some great reasons for joining! Here's just a few:
In the coming months, there will be the 1st Annual Alumni Gathering and Bar-B-Q at the Black Bear Bistro (Dining Hall) which will include a tour of the camp, production and publication of a book covering the history of Acahela, organizational meetings of the Association, and a number of projects and other opportunities you can participate in.
"OK, How do I get in on the action?" - Just simply click here and go to our Alumni registration page. Fill out the electronic form and press "Send". That's all there is to it. A short time later you'll receive a flyer from the Association with more details, plus additional information about the various activities we will hold.

Our Legacy in ImagesSo many memories and so many stories or the great times we've all had at Camp Acahela, yet our council has virtually no historic or photographic record of the camp at all. There are a lot of very good reasons for this, but the bottom line is we need your photos, movies, and copies of your patches!
Mission #1 of the Alumni Association is to rebuild, from scratch, an accurate history and archive of all things Acahela, but to do that, we need your help. In this wonderful world of digital technology, we are now able to scan your original photos and patches in just seconds with no damage to your items at all! Making copies of movies takes a little longer, but we can still insure that your precious items will remain in your possession.
